Gave this Parodia magnificus it's first drink of the year today. Parodias need a little bit of water over the winter, they can die if they dry out too much.

Austrocylindropuntia subulata or Eve's Needle Cactus. This will be available in the shop soon as one of our "Cacti for Tortoises" range. Grown without pesticides specifically for Tortoises.

Cylindropuntia rosea, one of the most dangerous chollas with sheathed spines that are very difficult to remove. Not quite as dangerous as the Jumping Cholla (Cylindropuntia fulgida)

Some Opuntia stricta (Yaaxpakan) pads I picked up from a friend today. I'll let them callus over for a week before rooting them in grit. This Opuntia has a lot of glochids.

Been getting the shop trolley ready to go back outside. It needed the lettering re touching. After that I put a new coat of varnish on it. Ready to load it up tomorrow but only putting hardy plants out at the moment, weather is still a bit cold for cacti.
